Employee Experience (EX) has been defined in multiple ways with different frameworks. While it’s a hot topic, there is little evidence-based research guiding or shaping the EX discussion within organizations. However, the various components of effective EX—its maturity across different stages, the true owners of EX, the levers to pull, important experiential milestones to target—remain elusive. The goal of Bersin’s HIEE research is to identify concrete, evidence-based actions that can help organizations improve their employees’ experience on the ground and, in turn, achieve important organizational outcomes.
Additionally, this study aims to shed light on the ways organizations can combine customer and employee experience. Daily customer experiences, driven by technology, real-time updates, always-on tracking, and continuous feedback, increasingly determine employee expectations at work. Organizations should identify areas where positive experiences as a consumer can be mirrored at the workplace to augment EX.
